The Irish Guineas comes around, and Winker is still on the sidelines. I’d love him to be taking them on, but he’ll have to wait a little longer. On paper it’s a rematch between New Approach and HenrytheNavigator, but the Irish Guineas doesn’t always follow the script.

No luck yesterday with King’s Head. I spoke to Gary before the race - he thought the ground was slightly on the soft side of good rather than the fast side as I had originally thought. KH will win again whan the going is fast.

I had hoped for three runners today but I’m down to one after the two Maxes pulled out. He’s a good one though - King’s Head runs at Aintree tonight, and if the rains stay away I see no reason why he won’t go in again. He’s fit and well.

Another weekend of dashed hopes, capped with Bouguereau finishing down the field in 7th in the Italian Derby. Well at least I can say I’ve had an odds-on favourite in a Group 1, which is rare enough.
