Bad to Worse
Dec 28th, 2007 by Bert
Ugh. This season is going from bad to worse - it’s the fourth time I’ve decided to have a big bet on a horse the day before the race only to change my mind on the day and then see it win (others were Osana, Twist Magic, Denman). I think I suffer from having too much information - I was probably better off when it was just me and my analysis.
Well it’s not all bad. At least I’ve been picking the right horses and I actually made money betting over the break - also my ten to follow is flying high with 276 points. I won’t be betting today but I’ll be watching Denman in the Lexus.
I had a good chat with Nick yesterday. He thought Ours was a little unlucky and could have won under a more aggressive ride. He was obviously really happy about Straw Bear, and although he believed Harchibald was a better horse on paper they won by employing the right tactics, which was very satisfying.
Shepherd’s Warning gives me an interest tomorrow night in another claimer.

Yes there tactics were perfect givin him a little breather and let harchibald get to them and have a good fight up the hpme straight as every1 nos harchibald ist the most genuine and no better man than AP in a scrap!!
Is shepherds warning a bet bert?
Micko - SW has an obvious chance but she’ll probably be favourite and I wouldn’t back her at too short a price. I won’t be making my mind up until I see the early prices and speak to Nicky tomorrow.
