I’m busy today - in a Bettorlogic board meeting with a follow on meeting in town. December has become my busiest time of year - I’m involved with a lot of companies now and they all seem to have one meeting to tie things up before Christmas.
Theophrastus runs in the 1:30 at Folkestone, and he may have found himself in quite a competitive little race. He’ll love the ground and the extra distance - he’ll also come on for his first run. If he puts in a clear round (a big if) I think he wins.

Glad to see you are back posting regularly again.
Would be interested to hear how you decided upon the sires for your mares. I have been reading up on breeding and I am not certain stats have been compiled as accurately as you would have expected and those who comment on the subject rely more on gut feelings.
Also what do you think are the best bets for honours in next seasons classics?
James,
I do a lot of research on matings - a day rarely goes by when I don’t take some time out to draw up a few pedigrees. I’m interested in in-breeding, and I’ve spent time reading up on genetics to try and understand that better. I take the view that the general stallion stats published are badly distorted by the quality of mares sent to them and I tend to do my own research.
I’ll publish my thoughts in more detail when I find a little time.
