Hi Bert,
I backed Blue Jack ante-post for the Ayr Gold Cup last year (www.thesportsman.org.uk - sep 18th entry on results page) and held him in high regard. He never managed to do it on the day but def looked a decent sort last year.
Another nice horse ran from the TBRC today in Coconut Ice and looks sure to land a maiden.
Best wishes for the flat season,
Scott

I certainly backed it!!!!! Nice one Bert, delighted your new colours got off to a flying start for the yard. I thought Coconut Ice ran really well today behind two horses well supported and with a run under their belt. Coconut Ice ran well if a little green at times and I will be lumping next time out.

Will be interested to watch the captain Rio 2yo tommorrow for Tom with my interest in Vegas Palace.

Bert,
Just returned from days racing at Newbury. Blue Jack was my only winner but at 16-1 made the day worthwhile. He did it very well and looks a good horse.
Blast Furnace was in the lead for a long time and it was a day when all front runners faded in the last furlong and ones which sheltered in behind came through. Not certain but they may have been running into a head wind. She looks a nice horse.
Western Eyes was slowly into stride and looked as if would be much better for the race.
Foghorn also looked well forward and was dismounted in stalls and backed out. You look in for a good season.

The other one you didn't mention was Coconut Ice for the Timeform-Betfair Syndicate. Do you still have an interest in them? She ran a very promising debut I thought, to chase up two of the previous winners.

I am guessing there are worse things than being stranded in Jamaica. Hope your kids won't be too disappointed if they have to miss a few days of school...

Thanks Eachway - I don't know who backed him but unusually for me I didn't have a single penny on. Tom said that whatever he did today he would come on for the run - his main target was Chester. He could be pretty smart.

Obviously I am grounded James - could be here for a while by the sound of it.

I didn't mention Maxwell Hawke who goes later at Thirsk. He should have an excellent chance but he's already been backed. He could have a good year this year after a poor one last year.

Foghorn was withdrawn on a technicality - annoying.

Congrats on Blue Jack. Looked very good - well ahead of the handicapper at this point. Hope you managed not to wait for another day. Someone backed it.

Thanks for the up date Bert. Very pleased with D'argent the other week. I am going to Newbury on Friday so will look out for your horses. Hope they all run well. In the 2yro race thought it was between Hannon runner and Foghorn. Like rasmy later in the day but the card looks difficult.

I will support Morana today as he did me a good turn last year but nothing much else of interest more a watch with interest day.

By the way volcanic ash cloud could mean you are grounded!
