Bert dare i say it but Winkers best days could be pat him mate.

I know its hard for you as the owner to even think that way some horses just lose it. I am hoping for you he improves mate.

Anyway Bert am sure there will be many more Winker moments coming your way in the future.

I thought you would be going to Newmarket Craven meeting as it is my favourite meeting of the year. Brings back memories of Frankie Dettori who i was talking to thru a friend who was apprentice jock at Lucas 20+ years ago when Ensconce and Statoblest won at the meeting.

I remember eating an ice cream and Frankie being Italian askign for a bit and me asking him if it was worth sticking £300 (a lot of dosh back then really) on Statoblest and him saying "Well he be a bit of a funny orse an if he wanna win eet and is in the mood she will win but iif he no t in za mood she just wont try. I took the positive note and backed the horse who flew in and so did Ensconce to leave pockets bulging with folds of notes. To top it all off we were given a tip for a horse called SHEILING or something like that who ran at Bath at the same day and some mockney bookie was rabbiting on about come on then if you want some as he was offering 7-2 the horse opening show and i stepped in and hit him for a mOnkey followed by the horses connection/stable lad at the
yard who was raging i got in in front of him as he had to take 2/1 as the loud mouth bookie similar to Wiltshire smuggly thought he was going to fill his satchel. Anyway we listened to the race by commentary from course on the rails bookie and Sheiling hosed up and there was a cue as long as the fat bookies face. We really skint him and i will never forget that day or Craven meeting as i won about £4500 which was a huge amount for me back then and will always remain a fond memorie in my heart.

We all have times and places or songs that remind us of good days and that was mine. Bert no doubt you have had a few Eureka moments yourself mate and no doubt will have many more. So Bert line me up a nice Sheiling moment again where i can fill me boots and put a smile on my face and a frown on the bookies.

Sorry about the poor runner of Winker. Winker looked fit and well before the race. He also went well until the turn but did not pick up at all when asked the question.
You got some compensation with Maxwell who looked very fit and won readily, but you may have to have him gelded to get the best out of him as he seems to have his eyes on the ladies.

Hope the other horse go well for you this week.

Poor Old Winker.
Hope he improves for the run, and Swindon losing 1-0 at the moment as well.
:-(.
