About a month ago Pete told me that Winker had just done a great piece of work, but that he was ahead of where he wanted him and he was going to back off - since then he's been taking it pretty easy. As you know timing in these things is critical. Winker is a lot more laid back on the gallops than when he was a young horse and if he isn't made to do it he just does what he wants to do. DoW comes out in the Craven next week, and he is fully wound up (it'll be interesting to see how he gets on). Pete will start to wind Winker up next week. It's a tense time. Ray Jay,

Last year he was well ahead of Declaration Of War but he never picked up in pursuit of him in a recent gallop. Has that laziness been the norm for him or is it something of concern? Hi Bert,
