TG,

it was great to have such a funny day to write about - unfortunately they don't come along often. I'll keep trying...

Equipedia,

I have a lot of input and we do a lot of work on it - from the little I have seen more than most. Our methods still need a lot of refining though. I look at Sire/Damsire combinations with more emphasis on relative performance than absolute. As an example I've sent Veiled Beauty (by Royal Academy) to Singspiel even though the only previous examples of this sire/damsire combination (Cutter and Love Appeal) were fairly average. They scored well on my analysis because in both cases they were the best of their generation from that dam. We do run other studies, but it's all a work in progress.

I'll find out where we are on Profitablebetting.co.uk - I know the legal team were following it up.

Bert,

How do you approach the supposed 'art' of breeding; are you very much at the mercy of other people's opinions, do you try and have some input on which stallions your mares visit, or have you adopted the Aga Khan's policy of purifying the breed through intensive research? I, for one, find pedigree analysis to be a fascinating topic but fear that I'd be rather scattergun in planning coverings!

On a separate note, how have your legal team faired with profitablebetting.co.uk? The site still appears to be online, and more and more of the previously dormant links are becoming active. I logged in to Betfair this evening (having had the account for some time, but not used it, I thought I might try a different approach to my day-to-day betting) and switched to profitablebetting.co.uk moments later, and it seemed to recognise that I had accessed my account. That said, if I click on the 'open account' or 'about us' links at the top of the page my anti-virus software and firewall step in immediately.
