A disappointing run from Marine Boy today but I’m prepared to forgive it. We had a chat about tactics beforehand and Tom was very much of the view that the horse needed cover to stop him running too free - Richard was to drop him in somewhere in the middle and produce him with a couple of furlongs to go. It wasn’t to be - there was nothing that was prepared to make the pace and he was forced to the front right from the start. Predictably he ran out of steam with a furlong to go.
Back to the drawing board. He has talent - lets hope we get a better run next time.
Max One Two Three is next up, running over the minimum distance on Friday. We don’t think 5f is the optimum for her but she’s strong and fast and it might work.
Cheddar George had a minor setback and doesn’t go on Saturday - he’ll come out a week or so later. Brian runs Delegator tomorrow, and he’s been setting the gallops alight with his work at home. Whether he’s worth a bet at the skinny odds available is questionable though.

Hi Andrew,
Good to see Tom (Dascombe) have a decent winning debutant with Walkingonthemoon at Newbury today. I noticed in the Horses In Training 2009 that you have a filly by Mr Greeley called Princess Aurora in training. That must be one of the most expensive two-year-olds he has ever trained. Best wishes for the season and hope this filly hits the heights.
Regards,
Jason
Yes, great to see Tom doing well again this season - both Soccer and Walkingonthemoon winning on debut. Great to see, as a big fan of the yard.
