Hi Ryan,

Pete said right from the start that he only wanted Winker to have one run before Ascot. He's a very straightforward horse and he wouldn't need the extra experience - Dutch Art only had one run before going for the Norfolk last year. I'm not worried about the number of winners that have come out of the race as he won as he liked - what matters is how he's going at home, and he's going great.

I don't think I've ever had a winner at Chester.

Best of luck with Winker Watson next week and Major Eazy, I have only just started to follow you blog, which i find intresting. Would you have preferred Winker to have had another run prior to ascot? The race he won has only thrown Nacho Libre as a winner although i know peter will have kept alot to work with and he did look a class act that day. I noticed the owners name on the racing post did you have a winner at chester on leger day a few years ago? what was it called if you did?
