King’s Head
Feb 8th, 2009 by Bert
Just a quickie today as I’m off to Kempton.
King’s Head runs in the 2:40 and he’s favourite. He’s been disappointing lately and we’ve dropped him to claiming class. He’s working very well at home and if he puts his best foot forward he’ll win this race in a canter.
It’s a big if though. He doesn’t need much of an excuse to spit the dummy - he doesn’t like being crowded, he doesn’t like being disappointed. Recently he’s taken time to get moving, and over today’s shorter distance that might be a problem. He might be a back to win and lay for a place.
I’m positive though. Gary suggests he’s been moving better on the home gallops recently and he seems well in himself. I’ll be backing him to win - I’m sure there will be plenty ready to oppose.

Well done Sir.
Won like a good’un should. Your fortunes seem to be turning for the good. Phil
Nice one Bert.
Just as an update to the French horses stats posted at start of month. Here was the results for January to a £1 stake.
6yo French bred runners, i)Chases only ii) Raced this season but not in last 4 weeks - gave an +£11.35 profit over the month,
5 yo French bred runners i) all in novice chases of 2m 1f or less, who raced in a chase LTO gave small loss of -£0.25
One more interesting aspect was French 9yo+ in chases to lay, showed a profit over month of Jan of just over £24. This suggests they def lack stamina at least at this time of year.
Got a system thats proved profitable for years for maidens in March/April if ok, can show that next month.
