Long distance treble

Three runners today, which is a first for me. Ours makes his debut in the 1:55 at Chepstow - he wasn’t a cheap purchase but 2 mile hurdles are not going to be his game. Nick doesn’t have a clear view on how he will run as he’s working well some times and not so well others - on balance we expect him to run better than his price suggests but a win is unlikely.
Lilac Moon runs in the 6:20 at Kempton, and she should go very well. I was disappointed not to win last time after she had shown up strongly at home, but the form has worked out very well with second and fourth going in since (fourth reopposes on worse terms). Nicky had said last time that the race was a week earlier than ideal, and she will have come on further for the extra time. We know she goes on the surface now and she looks a very solid proposition.
Shepherd’s Warning goes in the 7:20. Her form of late isn’t great but there have been some excuses - at Ponty I think it was too firm for her, and last time at Yarmouth the trip may have been on the short side. I think she’ll run a respectable race.

Racing Post reckons Lilac Moon would benefit from a drop back in distance. I didn’t see the race but she’s clearly going to pick up another race soon.
