Bread stick

Another busy weekend behind me – my weekends are far more hectic than my weekdays now. On Saturday Jane was playing a prominent role at the school fair, which she always does – I was left to entertain the boys for the day and there was little time to follow the racing. We had a quiz in the evening at the local tennis club – we came nowhere. I’m definitely going through a dopey phase at the moment.

On Sunday I had my mother for the day which is often the case – the boys have an early golf lesson and I drove down to pick her up after that. We met up with Jane and the girls at a restaurant for an early lunch. My mother isn’t as with it as she was which can make life difficult. We get the odd moment of comedy;

Mum : These breadsticks are very hard
Maddy : You’re eating my pencil Grandma

I have a runner today – Bad Sir Brian goes in the 12:30 at Kempton. The ground was almost certainly too soft for him last time, and the trip may have been long – he looks like a 2 mile type to me. He goes today in what may be a good race – I can’t see anything obviously exceptional in the field but there are quite a number of likely types. I think he’ll go very well. The one I’d pick against him would be Gary Moore’s horse Sire De Grugy who is apparently well considered.
