Foghorn

I’m in Jamaica at the moment having done a runner with the family for half term. We’re staying in a villa in the Half Moon resort – old colonial feel, a bit dated but spacious and peaceful.

One thing that’s taken a little getting used to is the fact that the villa has a small staff. We were greeted by the butler amd gardener, who were called Del and Rodney. The cleaner introduced herself a few hours later – Marlene. It was hard to suppress a smile.

The horses still aren’t winning, but at least I haven’t been backing them. Mon Michel ran poorly again, but he wasn’t right. I believe his day will come. Latin America came a close second and is improving.

The flat runners are lining up now and there will be plenty coming out over the next few days.

Peintre D’Argent goes tomorrow night, and we’ll be hoping for a good showing. The Comic Strip Heroes have a hew 2yo called Foghorn Leghorn – he’s by Medicean and he’s a sharp and early type. He goes at Newbury and I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t run a big race – we like him. I have another PCH horse going at Newbury – Blast Furnace was an expensive Sadlers Wells purchase, but she was backward as a 2yo. I’m told she’s going nicely now but she could be a bit green – I’ll give an update on the day.
