Good thing

My Cheltenham posts fell by the wayside after a boozy Wednesday night. I managed to finish the week on a high after backing Imperial Commander in the Cup – it was my only decent priced winner but I had a good bet on it and finished up for the week.

On the Saturday I went up to Manor House for an open day, taking the whole family up on the train. It was good fun – the children seemed to enjoy the journey, althought the weather wasn’t great and the traffic was bad coming back. The stable had it’s first listed winner with Classic Colori winning at Lingfield. Tom got completely carried away shouting at the tv, which rather terrified my children.

On Sunday Latin America ran at Fontwell, and I had a fair sized bet – he ran well coming in second. I’m still waiting for my first jumps winner of the season – Jane on the other hand has had two wins with Nono Le Sage who she owns 1/4 of.

I’m currently down at my house on the south coast that I own with my sisters – we’re having a strategy break for the Betfair product team. I’m coming back tonight – I won’t make it to Doncaster to see Thingathong make her debut.

She should run ok but I don’t think she’ll win – she’s big and a bit weak and probably needs a bit more time. Mirror Lad will go well in the Brocklesby, but I won’t be backing him as I’d like to see some evidence of how the 2yos are running first and the price is short enough. I have backed Huzzah in the Lincoln.
