I had a nice winner last week when Peintre D’Argent won at Newbury – she amazed us all by winning with incredible ease. She’s in foal to Winker – I think it’s made her eat a lot more (always a problem with her) and she may have benefited from it. She goes tomorrow at Musselburgh and I don’t see why she won’t go well.
Later today I have Sunday Bess going at Haydock. She’s up against a very good horse of Henry Cecil’s – Solar Sky is a half brother to Love Divine and ran a really nice race last time. He won’t be easy to beat – he’s 1-5 in the betting and we are 9-1. I like Sunday Bess a lot even though she hasn’t shown much on the course, so I’m hoping. Tom’s horses seem to be coming into better form now.
