Massive Day

A massive day today. I’m heading off to Wembley in a minibus with the whole family and a load of friends – I’ve taken a box and I’ve ordered a huge batch of Swindon scarves, hats, wigs etc. I hope we win…

Life seems to be a neverending series of meetings these days. Thursday was wall to wall meetings in town, ending up at a race meeting at Sandown. On Friday Jane and I went to Chelsea Flower Show – the first time I’ve ever been. It was extremely crowded but worthwhile as we found some bits and pieces for the garden.

I need to update my horses list – the whole blog is due a major makeover. I received some photos from Duke’s stud yesterday, so without further ado;

rc-baldy

This is Baldovina’s Red Clubs filly foal. I’ve published a picture of her already – she’s hairier now and still looking good. She’s thick set and looks like a sprinting type.

sing_vb

This is Veiled Beauty’s Singspiel foal. A half sister to The Cheka she was fairly late and like most Singspiels she is quite fine. Her birthweight was 10% lighter than her sister by Byron.

da_baldy

This filly yearling is out of Baldovina by Dutch Art. She’s very nice – a little weak in the hocks but otherwise her conformation is good and she looks strong enough. Baldovina’s sister has been running well in group company in Japan, so the page is improving.

mot_pa

This filly yearling is by Motivator out of Park Acclaim. She’s our least impressive filly (for some reason I’ve only ever had filly foals) and we’ve nicknamed her “Ugly Betty”, which is a bit mean. She has improved a lot recently though, and she may still make the grade.

byron_vb

This yearling is by Byron out of Veiled Beauty – again a half sister to The Cheka. She was a late foal – she’s very nice and we like her a lot.
