Henry the Navigator was my only winner of the day, but he only scraped home – if he’s the best that Ballydoyle have it’s good news for Winker. Miss Andretti won in an unbelievable time – Dandy Man may have been unlucky and Enticing ran very well and if progressive could be the real deal one day. The two group 1s were muddling, with neither of the favourites running to their best.
In the Windsor Castle Major Eazy missed the kick and had a tough task to win from there. He ran a respectable seventh but I was hoping for better. I was told before the race that Kingsgate Native was fancied at a big price – he nearly won at 66-1. He may go for the Norfolk now.
Thunderbolt Jaxon ran another stinker in the evening – despite his good shows at home it’s getting hard to keep faith with him.
