Quickie

I’m very busy today, but time for a quick one.

I’m back in the farm, and after a couple of weeks waiting my broadband finally came up this morning. If I had more time I might vent some anger at BT.

I was happy with Foghorn Leghorn winning last week – coupled with Swindon beating Southampton 1-0 it made for a good day. Foghorn will go back to Chester next week to try and repeat the dose, and he should have an excellent chance of doing so if he can cop a decent draw.

Two runners today. I have a piece of Toucan Tango who goes in the first at Newbury, and he should step up considerably on his poor first run. I don’t think he has made enough ground to win what is probably a hottish maiden, but I do think he’ll run with credit and I wouldn’t rule a surprise out.

Nemo Spirit at Newmarket is possibly more interesting. I own him 50-50 with Michael Owen – he also ran poorly last time and then had a small injury. He may need this and he’d like it a bit softer, but I think he’s a great prospect and he might surprise – he’ll try and make all.

I asked Tom what he thought about his runners today – he said he was expecting first and second in the Ayr Gold Cup. Tom is not backward in coming forward with his views, so I’d take that with a pinch of salt – of the two I prefer Noverre to Go who ran well last time despite not getting his ground and is now considerably better off in the weights.
