Something better

I mnentioned three horses in my last blog post that would run over the next few days – in fact none of them are. Nationalism was pulled out of the Lincoln; Whey Sauce was withdrawn as the feeling was that she is not quite ready.

The worst news regarded Wear em out Wilf – he had worked extremely well for some time but he was lame after his last piece of work and will probably have to be retired. He would have been a decent racehorse but he always had problems.

I have a runner today – Thingathong goes at Hereford. It’s not a strong race – she has an extra half mile to travel which we think she wants and the overnight rain won’t harm her chances. Donald said to me this morning that he thinks she’ll be somewhere in contention two out and it’s a question of how she does from there – I’m hopeful more than confident but she’s built like a stayer and she has always looked like a late maturing type, so maybe we’ll see something better today.
