Hit and hope

Quality racing today but tough.  I’ve been through the various cards and I haven’t found anything that I would consider standout.  I’ve decided to follow David Pipe – he’s been in no form this season but he has plenty of good horses in the stable and he’s been getting the odd winner.  He has eight runners today around the country.  I’ve always found his stable a tough read and often it’s the ones I don’t fancy that win, so I may back all of them and hope.

I had a long chat with Pete Chapple-Hyam in the week – his stable is ticking over nicely at the moment.   He has two runners at Lingfield today including Thief of Time, who is part owned by a friend of mine.  I think he’ll probably win but he isn’t a backable price at the moment so I may have to pass.

I’m still following James Ewart, and he had another winner during the week.  He has runners declared tomorrow, and I’ll have a look for clues on his website tonight – www.jamesewartracing.co.uk.  It looks like a beautiful stable up in the Scottish highlands.
