The big day arrives for Max and everything has gone as well as it could have. The ground is probably about right. She seems to be spot on and ready to run her race. Her draw (10) looks pretty good – she’ll need a bit of cover and wouldn’t want to be stuck out left or right. No excuses.
One worry I have is that she’ll play up going to the start or won’t go into the stalls – we’ve worked on this but it’s a different matter doing it in unfamiliar surroundings with thousands of people around. Other worries – she may not get the trip and main concern of course that she simply won’t be good enough.
I feel pretty positive though.
I wonder what Winker would have done had he run yesterday. I hope he gets the chance to take New Approach and Henrythenavigator on one day.
