I laughed when I read the papers this morning.  Two years ago I invested in a low budget film called “Morris – a life with bells on” – these things don’t often pay out and I fully expected to lose my investment.  They produced the film but they didn’t find a distributor and I assumed that that was the end of it.  I read this morning that after all this time it’s being touted as a “sleeper hit”.

I’d still be surprised if it makes it but if online hits are a guide then it has a chance.  The website is www.morrismovie.com.

Theophrastus worked this morning, and apparently went exceptionally well.  We’ve owned him for nearly three years and he’s still yet to see a racecourse – it’s been a catalogue of small injuries.  He’s built to be a three mile chaser, but he has a long way to go before he has the necessary experience to compete in a chase.  We need luck if he is to work out, but on the plus side he was always considered the best of our horses with Nick and if it does happen for him he could become a proper racehorse.

King’s Head will run in an 11f claimer at Kempton on Sunday.  Peintre D’Argent runs on the following Wednesday (the 11th) and I see Nicky Nutjob, formerly owned by the Comic Strip Heroes, is the topweight.  Astrodome should come out on the Friday at Sandown, although I’ve told Gary I have reservations about running on Friday the 13th…
