Shepherd’s Pie

I’ll be brief again today as I’m on cooking duty – I cook a mean Shepherd’s Pie.

Jane got me a couple of framed photos for Christmas – Bouguereau in the Derby and Winker in the July Stakes.  They were fantastic professionally taken photos that I’d never seen before – I’ll post them in here when I get time.  I couldn’t have been more pleased with my present.  Bouguereau was examined before Christmas and the vet allowed him to be turned out – this is great news.

It’s been a busy Christmas and with little time I’ve been betting very selectively.  Just one bet today – Secret Dancer in the 1:00 at Newbury.  This well bred gelding had a touch of class on the flat but was very lightly raced having had injury problems.  Alan Jones doesn’t get many of this quality at his stables and no doubt the horse will have had his trainer’s full attention.  SD ticks all the right boxes for a successful transition to hurdling and with a higher profile trainer would be a lot shorter than the 11-1 currently on offer.
