Skinny bird

It was a busy day with the kids today, although I did manage to find the time to back a couple of losers.

We took the boys to the theatre to see the pantomime “Pirate School” – all good fun.  At one point the pirate captain asked the audience which countries they had been to.  One little boy shouted out “Germany” – “Arrr – we’ve been there” he said.  The next little boy shouted out “Ireland” – “Arrrr – been there”.  The third little boy shouted “Butlins”!  The captain did well to keep a straight face.

Later I was watching Mary Poppins with the girls, and it got to the bit where Jane and Michael have gone to the bank with their father.  Michael starts shouting and he triggers a panic run on the bank.  Dora, who is 6, asked what was going on.  “They’re scared of a credit crunch” explained Maddy (8), knowingly.

I got a photo through of Peintre D’Argent this morning;

There are a couple of things to look at here.

Firstly she is a skinny type, consistent with the theory that she will be a stayer.

Secondly her legs.  From this picture she looks to have a pretty long stride (as suggested by Nicky) and she’s bending her knees plenty.  Her hooves, front and back, are almost horizontal to the ground.  I’m no expert but it looks like a decent soft ground action, and again that’s consistent with the feedback we have from Nicky.
