Update from Tom’s yard

I went to see Tom Dascombe on Thursday, and welcome Shawhill back from France.  The RP rated her run 99, and Timeform gave it 95.  We’ll continue to aim her at listed races or better.  Baldovina was well and she may run tomorrow.  We’ve been trying to get a run into her for a while, but she keeps returning dirty scopes (suggesting an infection somewhere).  Whatever it is won’t go away, but she appears to be extremely well in herself so we’ll probably take our chances.  She’ll be a lot better for the break she has had.  Etoile Argentee had come on an unbelievable amount, but the ligament problem is a worry and Tom thinks that we’re going to uncover more problems as we work to get her fit.  She may never really come right – if she does she could end up being a proper racehorse, so it’s a gamble well worth taking.  She won’t be out for at least a month.
